ESCMID 2026: Good Oral Hygiene Reduces the Risk of Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia
Results from the new HAPPEN study, presented at ECSMID Global 2026, indicate that the risk of the common healthcare-associated infection, non-ventilator-associated hospital-acquired pneumonia (NV-HAP), can be reduced by 60% by improving basic oral hygiene for hospital patients.
