Impact of age on treatment decisions

Higher age is associated with quantitative and functional changes in the innate and adaptive immune system, and an age dependent reduction in efficacy of disease modifying therapies. In this MEDtalk Per Soelberg Sørensen present data that shows, that the choice of initial disease modifying therapies differs according to the age of the patient. Fewer patients above 40 years started with a highly effective disease modifying therapies.
