EAN 2026: Climate Change and Environmental Factors May Increase Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms

At the EAN 2026 Congress, Anne-Marie Landtblom, professor at Uppsala University in Sweden, emphasizes the importance of understanding how climate change and environmental factors affect neurological diseases. Based on a literature review of 800 published articles on multiple sclerosis (MS), she found that only 30 addressed climate change. However, most of those studies showed that increased temperatures and heat waves worsen MS symptoms.
