EHA 2026: Increased Risk of Psychotropic Drug Use Observed in Patients with Mastocytosis

In this EHA 2026 update, Maren Poulsgaard Jørgensen, MD, and PhD student at Aalborg University Hospital, presents findings from a Danish nationwide matched cohort study showing that patients with mastocytosis had a significantly higher risk of incident psychotropic drug prescriptions compared with the general population over the 10 years following diagnosis. The study showed consistent results across landmark analyses and higher risks among patients with older age, higher comorbidity burden, and lower educational level.
