Optimizing Musculoskeletal/Rheumatologic Triage Pathways
Musculoskeletal complaints are common in primary care, while only a small proportion of patients have inflammatory arthritis. In this MEDtalk, Tue Kragstrup presents data from an open access clinic for patients with arthralgia in the hands, wrists and/or feet and no obvious joint swelling. He discusses how a rapid triage system can shorten the time from symptom onset to diagnosis and looks ahead to AI-assisted triage as a way to improve referral pathways and ensure that the right patient sees the right rheumatologist or MSK healthcare professional at the right time.
