Aristotle Bamias

Aristotelis Bamias, MD, PhD, is Professor at the Medical School, University of Athens, Greece and former Director of the 2nd Propaedeutic Dept of Internal Medicine, ATTIKON University Hospital. He studied Μedicine in the Medical School of the University of Athens and trained in Ιnternal Μedicine and Μedical Οncology in the UK where he obtained his PhD at the University of London and served as Lecturer in Medical Oncology. He is a founding member and Chair of the Hellenic Genito-Urinary Cancer Group (HGUCG). He is a member of the International Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Database Consortium (IMDC) and the Retrospective International Study of Cancers of the Urothelial Tract (RISC) Investigators. Professor Bamias has been a member of the European Society of Μedical Οncology (ESMO) Faculty for Genitourinary Cancer since 2012 and he chaired this group from 2016 to 2020. His main research focus in oncology is urogenital and gynaecological tumours. A member of several international advisory boards and steering committees of international trials, he has authored or co-authored more than 300 original papers and reviews in peer-reviewed journals including N Engl J Med, Lancet, Lancet Oncology and J Clin Oncol, with more than 18000 citations by other authors and a h-index of 65.
