Johnny Ludvigsson

Johnny Ludvigsson, MD, PhD, is Senior Professor at Linköping University in Sweden and leads research in three areas: Etiology and prediction of T1D, which is based on ABIS (All Babies in Southeast Sweden), which he created in 1997, with 17,000 newborn children still followed regularly. He has also led immune intervention trials since the 1970ies and is now the coordinating investigator of DIAGNODE-3 where intralymphatic GAD-alum is tested in DR3DQ2 GADA-positive individuals in a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled Phase III-trial in Europe and the USA. Thirdly, he is investigating the development of late complications with Linköping Diabetes Complication studies and the VISS study.
