Lisha Wang

Lisha Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. Her research focuses on developing small molecules that target protein–protein interactions to enable novel treatment strategies for Alzheimer’s disease.

Since 2023, she has started her independent line of research, working on the development of new proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs) to promote the degradation of toxic tau variants in Alzheimer’s disease. From 2019 to 2023, she investigated the protein–protein interactions between the chaperone Hsp90 and the co-chaperone FKBP51, and developed small molecules disrupting Hsp90-FKBP51 interactions.

In 2019, she received her PhD from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College, where she studied the pharmacokinetics, bioanalysis, and pharmacodynamics of active natural products on cognition.
