Ma Pilar Barretina-Ginesta is as Medical Oncologist and is responsible for the Gynecological cancer area at the Catalan Institute of Oncology. She also works as a Clinical Chief of the Medical Oncology Department of the Catalan Institute of Oncology at University Hospital Dr. J. Trueta in Girona.

Ma Pilar Barretina-Ginesta is member of the Spanish group of ovarian cancer investigation (GEICO) and associate professor at Girona University Medical Department.
