Pernille Tanggaard Andersen

Pernille Tanggaard Andersen is Head of Department, Professor, and Research Director for Health Promotion at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Health Services Research, University of Southern Denmark. She is a former associate professor at the same institution, an assistant professor at the Centre for Labour Market Research at Aalborg University, and holds a PhD from the University of Copenhagen and Aalborg University under the national research programme GEP (Gender, Empowerment and Politics).

Pernille Tanggaard Andersen has been employed at SDU since 2005, and her research focuses on health inequalities, vulnerable populations, cross-sectoral collaboration, and health sociology. She has a particular interest in conducting practice-oriented research and establishing partnerships between municipalities, hospitals, regions, companies, and local civil society actors. Tanggaard Andersen is a member of the programme committee on health inequality under the Danish Healthcare Council, serves on the board of the Danish Research Centre for Suicide Prevention, is a member of the international research committee for Public Health in Europe (EPH), and is part of the expert group behind the Burden of Disease reports published under the auspices of the Danish Health Authority.
