ELCC 2026: Methylated Circulating Tumor DNA in Lung Cancer
At ELCC 2026, Sara Witting Christensen Wen, MD, PhD, from the Department of Biochemistry and Immunology at Lillebaelt Hospital Vejle, Denmark, presented work on a methylated circulating tumor DNA assay for lung cancer diagnosis. Blood samples from high-risk patients were analyzed using droplet digital PCR targeting five methylated gene regions. The assay showed high sensitivity across early and late-stage disease but had limited specificity and did not improve performance when added to a clinical risk model.
