Identifying Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension in Polyneuropathy

Neurogenic orthostatic hypertension (NOH) is a frequently overlooked condition that is associated with both increased morbidity and mortality. The challenge in detecting NOH with current screening methods is that, in some situations, the test fails to identify the condition. At the Danish Neurological Society Annual Meeting 2026, Markus Hedin Fedder, Medical Student, Neurological Research, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark, presented his project on developing a screening strategy that can more reliably identify NOH in patients with symptomatic polyneuropathy. His poster was awarded Poster of the Year 2026 at the meeting.
