Delayed diagnosis of axSpA has a detrimental impact on life quality
Research shows an average delay in the diagnosis of axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) of around 7 years – and up to 15 years in some cases – during which time the condition can progress and lead to irreversible damage. At the EULAR2021, Dr Dale Webb and colleagues call for action upon the world-wide delay in diagnosis supported by comprehensive data on stakeholder experiences and new recommendations in order to transform the landscape of axSpA care.
