Bauke de Boer

Bauke de Boer studied biomedical sciences at the University of Groningen, followed by a PhD titled: “Unraveling clonal heterogeneity in Acute Myeloid Leukemia” in the lab of Prof. dr. Jan Jacob Schuringa, in Groningen, the Netherlands.
See this link for a summary of Bauke de Boer’s thesis.

Bauke de Boer is currently working in the group of Prof. dr. Bo Porse at the Finsen laboratory, Biotech Research & Innovation Centre affiliated to the University of Copenhagen, Rhigshospitalet and Danstem. Here he continues working within the field of Hematology with a focus on AML development from CHIP/CCUS clones towards MDS/AML/sAML. Besides studying primary patient samples at different disease stages, he also model single somatic mutations like DNMT3A, TET2, ASXL1, RUNX1, CEBPA, and UBA1 in healthy CD34+ cells using the CRISPR technology. Studying these cells in vitro and in vivo allows us to study the effect of a single genetic mutation on i.e. the plasma membrane surfaceome. This will give us more insight in the clonal heterogeneity within and between patients, and the progression of specific subclones in time. Bauke de Boer was awarded a lundbeck LF Postdoc grant in 2020 to this work: link.
