Katharina Leuchte

Katharina Leuchte, MD (PhD), is a postdoctoral researcher at the National Center for Cancer Immune Therapy (CCIT-DK) at Copenhagen University Hospital Herlev in Denmark. Her research investigates how exercise modulates immune function, with a particular focus on anti-tumor immunity in cancer.

Dr. Leuchte is a board-certified specialist in internal medicine with clinical training in hematology and oncology at the University Hospital Cologne in Germany. She is currently pursuing additional specialization in sports medicine to complement her research in exercise oncology.

She received her medical degree from the University of Münster in Germany, with clinical rotations in the USA, Switzerland, and Iceland. During her doctoral thesis under Prof. Claudia Rossig and a research sabbatical in Robert Weinberg’s laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), she developed a lasting research interest in enhancing the anti-tumor immune response.
