Marcela Nowak
Marcela Nowak is a MD, PhD and a resident doctor within dermatovenereology, at University Hospital in Linköping, Sweden.
Marcela Nowaks PhD thesis, made at University Hospital in Gdansk, Poland, focused on the field of chronic leg ulcers and quality of life of those patients, and she continues with this area of research parallel with other clinical projects.
Chronic wounds predominantly afflict the elderly population, affecting approximately 1%–2% of the Western population at least once in their lifetime. These persistent wounds pose a significant threat to the quality of life (QoL) of sufferers due to the enduring pain, unpleasant odor, cumbersome treatment procedures, and societal stigma. Such diminished QoL can lead to various associated health issues, including depression, and hinder patients’ compliance with treatment plans.
Primary area of interest of Marcela Nowaks current studies are treatment methods and patient-physician relation as both are crucial for best result.
