Sagar Lonial

Dr Sagar Lonial, MD, FACP, is Chief Medical Officer at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. He is also Professor and Chair at the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University. He is specialized in multiple myeloma treatment and research as well as bone marrow and stem cell transplantation and phase I clinical trials.

Dr Lonial is President and Chair of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO). He is also Vice Chair of both the Finance Committee of the International Myeloma Society and the Myeloma Committee in the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group. Besides this, he is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society of Hematology (ASH), and American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.

Dr Lonial is, among others, part of the editoral board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology and the Clinical Lymphoma, Myeloma, and Leukemia.

Dr Lonial got his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
