New Nordic Breast Cancer Network & Meeting

We are excited to share that on December 2-3, 2024, BestPractice Nordic will host the first meeting to revive and strengthen Nordic collaboration in the field of breast cancer. The meeting will kick start a Nordic Breast Cancer Network, bringing together experts from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland, with the goal of strengthening clinical and registry-based research, education, and networking for young clinicians and researchers to ensure stronger collaborative network across the Nordic countries.

The new Nordic Breast Cancer Network will pick up the thread and reignite the productive collaboration from the 1990s and early 2000s, to ensure a foundation for clinical studies, knwledge sharing and access to international network for specialists. The meeting in decemeber 2024 will be followed by the launch of digital Nordic Breast Cancer Platform in 2025.

Better opportunities for specialists and patients

United, the Nordic countries represent a population of 27 million, offering incredible potential for research and care that benefits even small patient sub-groups.

By fostering collaboration, we believe we can accelerate advancements in breast cancer research, improve care, and build a stronger network of clinicians and researchers across the Nordic region. Some of the goals we hope to achieve with this initative are:

• Facilitate Nordic collaboration surrounding clinical trials
• Foster epidemiological research
• Learn from and harmonize existing guidelines
• Nordic alignment and collaboration on new guidelines
• Provide multidisciplinary educational possibilities
• Create international networking opportunities
• Create a collaborative digital platform.
