The association between migraine and menstruation

What is the reason for the higher incidence of migraines in women compared to men, and why does the onset of overweight in women occur at the age of 13 or 40, when their period starts? In this MEDtalk, Professor Lars Edvinsson of Lund University discusses the current understanding of the link between female hormones and migraine risk. He was awarded “The Brain Prize” in 2021 for his work on migraine and the creation of a novel class of migraine-specific drugs known as CGRP antagonists.
